Bill served his apprenticeship at the world renowned BMC Special Tuning Division at Abingdon in the 1970’s and since 1977 he has been running his own business building and tuning road and competition engines.  Bill Richards Racing has gained a worldwide reputation for quality and performance and has become synonomous with the ‘A’ series engine.  In 1994 Bill was commisioned by Rover to build engines for the works Mini Coopers entered into the Monte Carlo rally to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their famous victory in the prestigous event.  The commisioned cars included the car driven by Paddy Hopkirk and Ron Crellin.
