Tristam Barden uses his Bill Richards Racing prepared Mini in SEMSEC and BARC championships, the car was originally built for and used in Minicross but has now been redeveloped for circuit racing and is fitted with a 1380cc full race engine. Tristam started racing in 1991 and has won several championships in Autograss, Minicross and now circuit racing.
Asked why he uses Bill Richards Racing Tristam said: “After deciding to switch to circuit racing from Rallycross it soon became apparent that this form of motor sport required a higher level of preparation and a quick, well dialled in race car to compete against the other drivers. A chance meeting through work resulted in an invite to go and meet Bill Richards to discuss how he could help develop my racing. It was well worth it. Since working with Bill Richards Racing the Mini is now three seconds a lap faster than it was and often puts more modern machinery to shame. It does not stop with the car as Bill has mentored me and boosted my confidence to a much higher level. A big thanks to them for all their efforts so far.”
